Lodges send their own members meeting reminders, event notices, dues reminders and funeral notices by text. Members opt in themselves through their lodge's sign-up link — see our text message program and opt-in flow.

How a member opts in to text messages

There are two ways, and in both the member acts first. We never text anyone to ask them to opt in. No number is ever bought, rented, shared, or sold, and no marketing is sent.

Route 1 — he texts us. The member sends JOIN to 848-373-3676 from his own mobile phone, in response to a call-to-action published by his own lodge, which reads: “Text JOIN to 848-373-3676 to get meeting reminders, event notices and dues reminders from your lodge. About 2–6 msgs/month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Terms: lodgecommand.com/terms Privacy: lodgecommand.com/privacy”

Route 2 — he fills in his lodge's sign-up form, at /join/<lodge> — the kind of address you may have arrived at. The form asks for his email address and, only if he wants texts, his mobile number. To receive texts he must tick a consent box. It is unticked by default, and leaving it unticked signs him up for email only. It reads, verbatim:

“By checking, you consent to receive event reminders and schedule updates from LODGE COMMAND LLC. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply, reply HELP for help or STOP to opt-out.”

He must separately tick a second box accepting the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. On submission we store the exact consent wording shown, his IP address, and a UTC timestamp against his membership record. A lodge officer cannot enable texts on a member's behalf, and importing a roster opts nobody in.

Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately, or HELP for help. Full detail is on the text message program page.
